7th February 2009 now dubbed 'Black Saturday' leaves an indelible mark on the memories of those that experienced the might and fury of Mother Nature. It is now the anniversary and a year has passed since the fires. It has been a long and arduous year for all those affected and the struggle continues. Rebuilding is evident throughout the Triangle region, new growth flourishes against the stark, blackened earth and the promise of better times to come hangs in the air. Triangle Fire Tales now shifts the focus from the disaster and the aftermath, to more positive and inspiring material. Stories are rife of struggles and hardships, triumphs and sorrows. Everybody has their own story to tell. Some have moved away, others have stayed, many just aren't in any hurry. The communication network has kept everyone informed of the rebuilding process - what, when and where. With shops again trading, key buildings gradually taking shape and much support still available the load becomes easier. It would be interesting to hear about the progress of individuals and businesses in our area over the last twelve trying months. Hopes for a better community, plans in the pipeline, gripes and struggles - there are plenty and the stories abound. If you wish to share your journey, advertise a new venture or simply have a story to tell, then please feel free to submit your content to Triangle Fire Tales. A new section 'Before and After' will be added soon with photos immediately post-fire and current - the contrast is amazing. There are some innovative and inspiring individuals among us. Please do share! |

Can you help? We are currently seeking photos of the former Narbethong Hall for a new hall website. Sadly, many of the photos we have are post-fire but we would love to add as many as possible of the hall as it once stood. If you can assist, please email me here or call Debbie at Triangle Fire Tales on 0419 008 112. Thank you! |
